So, basically the suggestion is a set of shapes of several colours should be set out with ‘centres’ of small containers such as bottle tops into which some sugar syrup can be placed. A tally chart to see how many bees visit each colour is the research. In addition, I think it would be good to see how long it takes bees to find the ‘flowers’ for the first time. Is their scope for mentioning the waggle dances that will be enacted by the bees back in the hive to let others know.
I think I’ll be doing this tomorrow. I’ve already put my Mother’s Day bouquet outside to see whether the bees were attracted by its pollen.
