Green returns

The title is really a pun.  At last the grass is returning with some purpose to our grey back garden.  And the heat pump is proving a good investment; saving the environment and saving us money.

Green returns to our garden

We previously paid about £150 a month to our oil company and £40 a month for electric (plus we generate solar electricity).  We have increased our payments to the electricity company to £100 (this confused them as they could not see the need as we haven’t had a reading since the pump was installed).

The heat we have is so pleasant and has lots of side benefits.  When we switched off our oil boiler for the summer, a sudden cold evening meant w

e felt cold.  And my personal bete noir – the bath towel often had that faint, cold dampness from the previous day’s ablutions.  N

ow the system just adapts seamlessly and the towels are either warm or at least no longer have the echos of damp.

About apiarylandlord

Definitely past it - whatever it was - I may have blinked and missed it. New to beekeeping and totally entranced by the experience. That is probably all you need to know until I work out how secure this blog is. Great fan of recycling - see ilovefreegle.org to find your local group. Save things from landfill. Pass on your surplus, locally, for free or ask for things you need in case you can have someone's cast off again for free.
